Kravtsov has refused assignment to Wolf Pack and is expected to be suspended, Post has learned.

All those feelings of punching a wall for passing on Wahlstrom coming rushing back… doesn’t feel like this will end well.

Anyone have a guess on the return? Don’t see a 1st rounder. Pass on a 2nd rounder (he’s way more valuable than Andersson). Maybe a similar type player, drafted 1st round but hasn’t found his stride yet.

We have the 25th overall pick from that draft in the AHL right now...

Just spoke to Gallant, who made it sound like Kravtsov being sent down was more about other guys beating him out for spots. He mentioned Hunt and Gauthier specifically. #NYR

that is (frank)ing insanity

Are we living in (frank)ing Bizzarro world? When did Hunt do anything even remotely worthwhile? Gauthier I thought looked good so I understand that a little more.

Poor asset management isnt always to blame. In many cases , the player is to blame.....i.e Ho Sang

"I know it doesn't look/feel good right now but any chance this just blows over? I know this happens from time to time and I'm sure that some players just end up sticking with the club at least temporarily.

He really just could have shut up and waited for a call up in a week or so at worst. You know someone is gonna go down or get taken out in the first few games. "

Jan, don’t put this all on the rangers. These are supposed to be professional athletes. It comes with the territory. So tired of having to pamper players when others take it and understand. No doubt he’s talented but we really don’t know what he really is, other than a pampered crybaby. Good riddance.

here's the thing. the team had to know this would go poorly if they sent him down, especially to open the season. even if you put all of the blame squarely on kravtsov for not handling adversity well they still knew it would happen and did it anyway. now it's a public feud and his value is as low as ever. there had to have been a better way for the team to handle this

so the key piece in a proposed jack eichel trade was demoted to the ahl and refuses to go...very interesting

You seem to forget that Eichel’s value is tanked as well considering he has a broken neck

That's the best way to look at it. From a business perspective there had to be a better way. Now he's worth essentially nothing and he gets to move on for pennies on the dollar.

"good riddance". you are forgetting the fact that the team has to first and foremost do it's absolute best to put the team in a winning situation for now and the future. even if the player is a diva (i'm not necessarily conceding that, just for the sake of argument), the team would want to be able to maximize his value which they have not by doing it this way

That's one way it could have gone. Also we forget that his salary tanks when he gets demoted, correct? Maybe he's tired of that? Also, if I were Kakko and the other guys getting thrown on the taxi squad last year to save a few bucks I would be pretty pissed at management as well.

vince gets it.

@vzmercogliano
Here’s something I don’t get: Kravtsov being demoted helped #NYR protect Hajek from waivers, w/ a slight chance they can get a late-round pick in a trade. But now they’ve pushed their relationship with a former top-10 pick to the brink, diminishing his trade value in the process.
